Dozer was purchased at a draft and mule auction in Tennessee that had over 400 horses with very few private buyers. He wasn’t trained and had very little chance of getting a private bid and was luckily purchased by friends of Mississippi Horse Rescue.  They donated him so he could get a new start on life through their Trainers Program.

Wyatt O’Keefe – I had little to no experience with horses growing up, except for the rare pony ride or whatnot. I became interested in horses when my now-deceased older brother got a horse when he contracted brain cancer. It was during that time that I learned how special horses were and decided then to learn all that I could. Farrier and horse trainer, Randy May became my gateway into the horse world. I have apprenticed under him to learn horse training and farrier work. We’ve been training horses together for many years. Riding horses is second-nature to me, and I like dealing with troubled horses and getting them to behave and respond better to riding commands.

First Day

If you don't see the horse you're looking for on our available horses page, don't forget the Trainers Challenge and Safe Horse Auction is right around the corner. May 1 & 2. You can follow the trainers and their progress on the Trainers Challenge page. Dozer is a beautiful mover and I can't wait to follow these two on their journey! Wyatt O'Keefe is a farrier who wants to get more into training and we are so excited about that!
